Before & After: Component Recovery

A full rebuild often starts with damaged components and ends with precision-machined replacements. The examples below show typical recovery work completed in our shop.

Before Damaged hydraulic cylinder head with failed internal sealing surface
Damaged Cylinder Head Worn and failed sealing area requiring full re-machining and replacement.
After Newly machined hydraulic cylinder head with restored geometry and clean finish
Newly Machined Cylinder Head Rebuilt to specification with restored surfaces and precision-machined features.
Before Original hydraulic cylinder base tube before repair
Original Base Tube Incoming component prior to machining and structural restoration work.
After Finished hydraulic cylinder base tube after machining and restoration
Finished Base Tube Reconditioned and ready for reassembly into the completed cylinder build.

Cylinder Types We Repair

We work on all types of hydraulic cylinders regardless of manufacturer, age, or condition:

Single-Acting Cylinders

Rams, plunger-type cylinders, and spring-return configurations used in presses, lifts, jacks, and dump equipment.

Double-Acting Cylinders

The most common type in industrial and mobile applications. Full control in both extend and retract stroke.

Telescopic Cylinders

Multi-stage cylinders used in dump trucks, refuse packers, ejector trailers, and construction equipment.

Tie-Rod Cylinders

Standard industrial cylinders held together by external tie rods. Common in manufacturing and material handling.

Cylinder head machining operation in progress on large industrial lathe
In-process turning operation with dimensional checks during machining.
Repaired base tube showing machined weld and restored mounting area
Machined flange weld area after structural repair and finishing.

Our 5-Step Repair Process

Every cylinder goes through the same proven process to ensure quality, reliability, and zero surprises on your invoice.

1

Intake & Assessment

We receive your cylinder, disassemble it using our 50,000 ft-lb disassembly machine, and perform a thorough inspection. We document all wear, damage, and needed repairs.

2

Estimate & Approval

You receive a detailed estimate with the scope of repair, parts needed, and expected turnaround time. We won't do any work without your approval.

3

Repair & Machining

Our technicians perform all repair work in-house. Machining, welding, honing, seal replacement, and component fabrication happen under one roof.

4

Assembly & Testing

The rebuilt cylinder is reassembled, filled, and test-cycled at operating pressures. We verify proper function, check for leaks, and confirm the cylinder meets specification.

5

Return to Service

Your repaired cylinder is finalized, documented, and ready for your team to place back in operation.

Facility & Equipment

Our repair capability is only as good as our equipment. Here's what backs up our work:

50,000 ft-lb disassembly machine
Overhead crane for heavy cylinders
Complete machine shop (lathes, mills, honing)
Hydraulic test bench for pressure testing
Completed hydraulic cylinders prepared for final handling and shipment
"Our excavator was down and we needed the boom cylinder rebuilt fast. Hydramachine had it done in 2 days. Perfect quality, fair price. They're our go-to shop now."
